Three steps. No app to install.
Nothing to sync, nothing to install. It's just email, the way you already use it.

Why not just use a chatbot?
You can. But a chat app and an inbox plugin each ask for something Mabel never does. Here's the difference.
-
Mabel
What you get- Sees only the message you send, never your inbox.
- No account and no app, it's just email.
- Works from any inbox you already use.
- Replies you keep, search, and forward like any email.
- Answers on your time, nothing to keep open.
- Forgotten within a day, never used to train a model.
-
A chat app
- An account, tied to everything you ask.
- Another app to open and keep up with.
- Your history builds a profile over time.
- Answers live in the app, not your inbox.
- Free tiers often train on what you type.
-
An inbox plugin
- Read access to your whole mailbox.
- Install, permissions, and a live connection.
- Reads everything, not just what you choose.
- Wires a third party into your private mail.
She sees only what you forward, keeps a conversation just while it's active (about a day), then lets it go, and never trains a model on your words. Read the full privacy policy →
Who Mabel's for.
The privacy-minded
Wary of who's collecting what, and who want the help without handing a company their inbox or their habits.
The genuinely busy
Too much to read and reply to. They want a draft, a summary, or a straight answer without opening one more thing.
The AI-curious
Curious what these tools can do, but not interested in creating a dedicated account or learning a new app to find out.
At home in email, not apps
They'd rather use the inbox they already know than download, install, and remember yet another app.

Made by a person, not a platform.
Hi, I'm Steven, and I built Mabel. I wanted the help of modern AI without handing my inbox, or my family's, to a company that quietly profiles everyone who signs up. So I built the assistant I actually wanted: one that lives in email, reads only what you choose to send, and forgets it the moment it's replied.
It's a small, independent project.

Tell us a little about you and how you'd like Mabel to work with you. We review every request by hand and reply within a few days. Prefer email? You can still write to ask@mabel.email. She works the same way either way.
A few you might be wondering.
How is this different from an inbox plugin?
Plugins generally need read access to your full inbox. Mabel has zero access to your mailbox. She only sees the specific message you forward; nothing before, nothing after, nothing else.
Do you store my emails?
Only while a conversation is active. So Mabel can follow a back-and-forth, the content of your messages and her replies is kept with the thread for up to 24 hours after your most recent message, then automatically deleted. The one lasting thing we retain is a short note of your preferences, which you can view or wipe anytime. See our privacy policy for details.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your messages are not used for model training, and we use providers under terms that prohibit training on your data.
Can the AI build a profile on me?
No, and the way it works makes that hard by design. The AI providers never get your name or an account for you. Your requests reach them through Mabel, blended in with everyone else's, over an API the providers don't train on. With no account tied to you and nothing kept beyond your active conversation, there's simply no profile for anyone to build.
What does it cost?
Free during early access. Pricing will be straightforward and announced before any charges begin.
